Texas Joining Constitutional Carry States
With Texas’s constitutional carry bill having passed through the legislature, and governor Abbott having expressed interest in signing the bill, it’s only a matter of time before Texas joins 18 other states in implementing constitutional carry laws. Under the new law, Texans will no longer need to apply for a special CCW permit to carry a concealed firearm. All residents who legally purchased their handguns will automatically be granted the right to carry.
With Iowa and Tennessee moving to permitless carry on July 1st, more and more states are loosening their gun laws. For a comparison of the CCW laws of all 50 states, check out this article from TacticalGear.com.
Texas led the nation in firearm sales in 2020, selling almost 200,000 more firearms than second-place Florida. The new laws mean that millions of Texas gun owners will be free to go about their day with a firearm in tow for protection.
