Reasons Why People Own Firearms

There are practically one hundred and one reasons why people choose to own firearms. So long as it is legal, and for a valid reason; owning a firearm is not an issue. Hunting, protection, sports shooting, competition, or employment are among the few reasons why firearm owners have one. Some are plain collectors, or individuals who simply inherited them or are just too happy to flex it around.

Well, firearm ownership is not always about protection, defending others, or just plain hunting. It is more of an epitome of freedom. Luckily, we all have the Second Amendment to back these all up. Below are some reasons why people own firearms.

For Freedom and Protection

Approximately 75% of the firearm owners claim that they have a sense of freedom by having gun ownership. Our forefathers found it so crucial that people have firearms that they made it an inherent right to carry firearms. It is the next most crucial thing in our Constitution. If it were not for firearms, we would not have the right protection and be able to savor the independence that we now all enjoy.

Protect The Life of Your Family

When something untoward happens, seconds matter. Truth be told that police and other authorities can take minutes or perhaps later. Feeling protected and safe is a basic human right. About 70% of Americans stated that they feel safe living in states where gun ownership is allowed.

Feed The Family

Hunting provides organic and sustainable meat to the table. It is 100% low in fat, calories, cholesterol; but is very high in protein, vitamin B, and iron. It has no GMO or artificial ingredients whatsoever.

It Is A Right

Gun ownership is an inherent right as embodied in the right to self defence which is guaranteed under the Second Amendment.

Firearms Keep The Country Safe

A recent study revealed that states with the highest number of gun owners have the lowest homicide and crime rates. It is safe to conclude that enabling concealed carry can be a detriment to the commission of any violent crime.

Lesser Crime
There are projected 3 million individuals who are gun owners, who are capable of preventing crimes with their firearms each year. The firearm is used 90% more times to prevent the commission of a crime, rather than being used to commit it.

Improves Discipline, Concentration, Responsibility and Overall Confidence
Shooting sports help enhance our strength, focus, concentration, stamina, motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and eliminates our eye stress.

Become A Responsible and Law-Abiding Citizen
GunHub notes that a recent study showed that concealed carry permit owners are deemed the most law-abiding citizens of the country. It shows that it is better to have concealed carry permit than those that do not have a license to carry one at all.

There are so many good reasons to own a firearm today, but there are some very positive consequences to responsible gun ownership that is sure to benefit the whole country!
