Creature of a Constitution
A Constitution is a Thing antecedent to Government, and a Government is only the Creature of a Constitution. The Constitution of a Country is not the act of its Government, but of the People constituting a Government. It is the Body of Elements to which you can refer and quote article by article; and which contains the principles upon which the Government shall be established, the manner in which it shall be organized, the powers it shall have, the Mode of Elections, the Duration of Parliaments, or by what other name such Bodies may be called; the powers which the executive 4part of the Government shall have; and, in fine, every thing that relates to the compleat organization of a civil government, and the principles upon which it shall act, and by which it shall be bound. A Constitution, therefore, is to a Government what the laws made afterwards by that Government are to a Court of Judicature. The Court of Judicature does not make the laws, neither can it alter them; it only acts in conformity to the laws made: and the Government is in like manner governed by the Constitution.

It is stunning to recall Mr. Paine’s foresight throughout the thirty five or so of the creation of this nation. “The Winter Soldier” remains topmost in my mind. But the fact that in all his writings he stood for majority rule of a democratic republic and was either an agnostic or an atheist who never put his beliefs beyond the common good.

Earlier this year Chief Justice Roberts kicked The Bill Of Rights out the door with his vote for Obamacare being a tax issue. Today, we find our nation facing sequestration and an automatic 600 billion dollars cut from the defense budget. Tomorrow we could be facing all sorts of idiotic rulings to the point of even quartering troops in OUR homes because it is a TAX ISSUE>
What absolutetly defies credulity is that Mr. Roberts has not been indicted for what he has done. People like roberts need to be impeached and removed from the bench, permanently. Perhaps it is time for some of you to realize that now that the First Amendment has been gutted completely; the next step will be treating guns as a TAX ISSUE because the 2nd Amendment impinges upon HEALTHCARE!
